Hey....what happened....I woke up and it is 2009 already

Obviously it isn't quite that bad, but quite often I wonder where the time has gone. Another year has passed and although we had several life changes, the older I get the less I feel like I have accomplished all that I should have,

We saw 2008 out by celebrating our first Christmas in our new home. My dad and Susie came up for a few days and it was great to spend Christmas with them before they leave on their big adventure. The kids enjoyed all the loot they managed to haul in and all in all we were blessed.

New Year's and my birthday were quiet. My mystery illness reared it's ugly head again and I have spent the better part of a week barely out of bed. UUGGHHH!!

So, what better place to start than with my resolutions for '09....

* Continue to seek knowledge from the fabulous doctors at Duke in hopes that they can finally diagnose what is wrong with me. Seriously....6 years is enough of being sick.

* To find a few moments each day to acknowledge the blessings bestowed upon me...and be thankful for them...regardless of how small they might seem.

* To finally get these damn 15 pounds off. Seriously sick or not.....they have to go!! The rest of my family has officially been warned....our way of eating is about to drastically change. Whether they like it or not, they are along for the ride to a healthier lifestyle.

* To find and foster peace, love and harmony in my relationship with Justin.

* To continue to help my children grow. Allow them to test their wings more so that when they are ready to take flight in a few years, they soar!!

* To make some big decisions about the role horses are going to play in my future.

* Last, but not least, to spend more time in contact with my friends and family that I love and miss.

I have a love/hate relationship with these sorts of lists. I love that they lend structure to my goals, but I hate that once I have penned them, I know have a responsibility to do my best to see each of them through. No matter how difficult or mundane. But, what better time than now to dive in!!

I hope the New Year finds each of you happy and healthy. I hope all of you have started on your lists as well. May you reach your goals and next year look back satisfied with the journey!
